Yes that is true, you have to show your passport and I-94 and EAD
you should be fine if they ask about expired I-94 (with stamp) as you have an extension till 2007.
so to answer your question show H1 extension if they ask.

Actually I got H4 extension till Oct 1st 2007. Then H1B kicked in from same date(Oct 1st) until 2010, so new I-94 is with the current H1B...
Since I applied in July for AOS and got I-485 receipts in September, I think it doesn't matter if i am on H1 or H4 after that, since my status would be "Adjustment of status" right?,,not sure

Since your wife has a valid H4 she dosent need to get the stamping if the H4 is filed through your employer. couple of my friends have the same situation. one of them moved to H4 and her employer told if anybody asks then she can say she never joined the company...another friend of mine is running payroll for his wife by paying money from his own pocket...

jcrajput.. I have had my renewal stamping done last month in India and am purely stating from personal experience. I was asked for to show 6 months of paystub by the officer. Luckily I had them on me so I could show it.
You can take the minimum but travelling with the minimum puts your family at a risk when you go for the interview. No lawyer or any other member at IV can help you there.It Doesnt hurt to be proactive and prepared in the right way. In this time of recession, more documentation has been asked then ever. For my earlier stamping no documents were required, but this time W2's and paystubs were asked.
You may even want to ask Mr 1000 watt when he last got his stamping done and go by whatever he recommends.

SR can be opened by company HR or lawyer if the service center processing time exceeds your receipt date by more than 30 days.
As sunny said, when NSC moves their processing time to more than 21st Jan 2007 ( I assume ur RD is 21st DEC and EB3)...your lawyer can call the normal 1800...number and raise a SR.
it's a simple process and lawyer should be knowing how to handle this.
I see people getting decisions within 30-45 days after SR.
Mine came in about 27 days.

is there any possiblity that the EB3-ROW from Bngladesh become current soon. can you tell any approx.....days. What about in October....i heard that the new visa will be available in Oct every year. Is there any quota for different countries....??????? thanks again

Yes India, I totally second it. India as of now is a booming economy and will be in the future, we all are professionals educated if other economies can benefit why can�t our own benefit from what we have. People all talk about corruption, corrupted politicians, red tape etc, why don�t we take a step towards pushing it down, like once my friend said about putting a website that will expose all of them even a clerk who is corrupted can be captured on a mobile phone and posted on the site.. Just a thought and well being an immigrant means for some time in life you cant even vote(Voting is an important thing in democracy).I believe India will keep growing in the years to come and will be good option .I personally believe being a part of developing some thing even a country is great thing rather than sit on top of something that�s already developed by some one�Just a thought.;)

If we register our marriage in the US, say, today, wouldn't that conflict with the marriage affidavits we submitted for H4 etc? Those bear the wedding's original date.

* Today, the Senate also passed this bill by agreeing to the House H.R. 2638 which the House paased earlier. Here is the vote count. This bill now goes to the President for his signature. The President is expected to sign all of these bills, including Consolidated Continuing Appropriation, Reauthorizations of Non-Miniter Religious Worker Special Immigration, and Conrad 30 International Medical Graduates National Interest Waiver bills before October 1, Wednesday. Otherwise, the federal government is destined to shut down and the immigration reauthorization laws will sunset and gone. The President is anticipated to sign these bills by September 30, 2008.
* Sad part is that the immigration reauthorization is valid only until March 6, 2009 just as the continuing appropriation act. Still, it is a good news in that most of the pending I-360 non-minister religious worker immigration petitions, Conrad-30 based I-140 petitions, and EB-485 applications related to these petitions are likely taken care of before March 6, 2009. The USCIS is currently holding in abeyance these petitions and related EB-485 applications pending the Congressional action. Since the Congress has now cleared the path, as soon as the President signs the bills, the USCIS is likely to pick up these petitions and 485 applications swiftly. Unfortunately, the Conrad 30 based EB-485 for Indians and Chinese may still have to deal with the visa number retrogressions in October 2008 Visa Bulletin. I traveled ORD-HYD via Frankfort last month with out stamping; but has AP in hand. No one questioned or looked at my AP. If you have a Indian passport I think you should be good to got back; problem is only when you want to come back to US with out AP or stamping.
